NSW once again is leading the charge to be the Australian state with the most retarded laws as The Department of Gaming and Racing mulls the idea of removing ATM's from all pubs, hotels, clubs and casinos. Don't get me wrong i agree with reducing problem gambling but the government needs to stop pussy footing around the situation and just get rid of the pokies they are obviously not working out.
I worked as gaming attendant in a large Sydney hotel for 3 years and must say it was the most depressing job i have ever held, dealing with problem gamblers which in the pub industry are second only to TAB punters as rude, abusive pains in the arses. The rest of the pub going community shouldn't have to wander around the streets looking for somewhere to take money out just because these morons can't be trusted not to punt a $50 note looking for that big feature just around the corner.
Let's take pubs back to the basics they are places to get pissed and have a yarn with your mates, not sit in a dark room on you own mindlessly slapping a machine.
